Ice skating at lake Weissensee

Lake Weissensee, turns into Europe’s biggest and consistent frozen surface (6,5 km²) in winter. From December until March the lake Weissensee is covered with a 40 cm thick sheet of ice.

Perfect for families - at your doorstep

The frozen lake at your doorstep is a great place for ice skating, speed skating, or hiking and is a fun place for the whole family.

The ice of the lake Weissensee gets groomed by an “Eismeister” and his team. They look after the 25km tracks, the ice stock and ice hockey fields and the 400m tracks for the speed skaters.

There are even two ice skating schools at lake Weissensee where you can learn how to skate.

Various possibilities to relax and enjoy

There are many other ways to enjoy the lake. Go on a winter hike on the ice for example and be in the middle of the breath-taking Weissensee scenery.

A sleigh is also a perfect possibility to enjoy the scenery.
